Housey is a roommate planner for cleaning days, shared bills, and house chat. It started with arguments between my roommates and me, and I turned that problem into an app that I now use alongside around 200 other people. I designed and built it, including the store screenshots. It is available on the App Store.

the host sets up the house once: the shared spaces (kitchen, bathroom, whatever you actually fight about) and a cleaning cycle. roommates join with one invite code. anyone can claim a day. they work through a per-room checklist while they clean. the day ends as completed, partial, or missed. half a job is recorded as half a job.

What the house can see

the shared calendar is the product. blue claimed, yellow partial, green completed, red missed. a roommate list shows who is in the house and who cleans next, with per-person history. notifications fire when a day is claimed or finished.

chat sits next to the schedule so "who is taking Thursday" is not a group-thread that dies. claims can post themselves into that chat. the house also keeps the boring facts in one place: rules, address, Wi-Fi password.

1.0.1 caches household cleaning stats on the device so the roommates tab opens on the latest numbers and refreshes in the background.

Pricing

pricing matches that shape. the person who creates the house subscribes ($2.99 a month, or $23.90 a year). everyone they invite joins that house free. one house, one payment, however many roommates. 14-day trial on the site.
